Thoughts of Mine

How the days come and go so fast I do not know? I sure enjoyed the sunny day today! I know many did complain about the crazy heat but for me it meant pulling out the kids pool for the first this year...working in my flower bed, which I sooooo ENJOY!!

some of my thoughts today....

What is it that makes people so uptight, crazy busy, stressed, unhappy? I don't seem to have the answers about all of life but i do know the stuff that I have learned for my life.

LIFE WAS MEANT FOR LIVING AND LIVING IT ABUNDANTLY,FULLY

I believe that too often we forget to tap into that something greater then ourselves or human kind, I call it GOD and GOD to me is sooooo many things...like LOVE, CREATION, GOOD, PEACE, HUGS, FLOWERS and the list doesn't stop.

I do not want to be a part of things that are misery ( anger, frustration, jealousy, addictions) and yet I often can not remove myself from being around it, so that leads me to my next thought...

How does one LIVE life abundantly, fully when surrounded by what I call misery?

it takes something opposite of laziness, to be a GREAT Godly influence.

Each one of us has an area of influence, what I like to call "your sphere" or "your world" these are people who are involved in your life.

1. The neighbor lady that you don't know well but always chat with when you see each other outdoors, take dinner to every now and then, you look out for each other.

2. Family, whether you see or talk with them alot or not much at all.

3. friends that you happen to be around regularly

4. co workers

5. your boss

6. your children

7. it could be your hair dresser (depending on how much you talk to her while getting your hair cut...hahaha)

Is my influence bettering my "sphere"?

Each of us has something good to bring to the table of life. Sometimes we just need to step back and tap into GOD. REST. so that that something good can come out and be seen.

May you be BLESSED as you chose to be a good influence in your "sphere"today

My Baby's Birthday

Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!!

This week my beautiful baby turned three...beautiful is an understatement

SARAH NICOLE you are positively gorgeous in my eyes!!

Sarah meaning princess and Nicole meaning victory of the people. I like to say..."you are my princess bringing victory to the people" My hope for you is that by your bubbly personality many people will experience JOY in their life - may it always rub off on others.

I LOVE THE WAY YOU TALK WITH YOUR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS

How is a Mother ever to be stern and serious to a child who just giggles and spontaneously gives hugs and kisses with the words I LOVE YOU MOM coming out of her mouth at least 10 times a day? I am afraid that this one has already mastered the art of getting what she wants because of the sweet talk...my my my

Your choice of words and the way you put them together is hilarious and catchy.

Mom, Do we need to wash we hair tonight?
Next are we going to we house?
I don't like she.
I don't want she to do it.
Mom, give me some space.

Sarah, You have forever won my heart and I LOVE YOU MUCH!

This was Sarah's first party with friends...She was allowed to invite three girlfriends for lunch and was looking forward to the day for weeks in advance. Valorie was in school that day and I took Chadwin over to our dear neighbor lady since we had decided NO BOYS ALLOWED...haha

It was soooo good to see her do and have something of her own, being the youngest of three she gets bossed and pushed around quit a bit. I wanted to make the day SPECIAL JUST FOR HER!

together we prepared her little table...

Balloons as the center piece

Elmo plates and napkins

a dish of gummy worms

a dish of colored little marshmallows

a dish of cheddar fishies

and then I served them grilled peanut/butter jelly sandwiches

yogurt

juice and

cupcakes

you prayed for the lunch

To listen to Sarah's giggles you will need to pause the music which you will find at the bottom of this page, then click on this video below and you will hear what I hear every day.

Mother's Day

A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. ~Tenneva Jordan

I'M INVISIBLE
By a woman named Charlotte
It all began to make sense, the blank stares, the lack of response, the way one of the kids will walk into the room while I'm on the phone and ask to be taken to the store. Inside I'm thinking, "Can't you see I'm on the phone?"
Obviously not. No one can see if I'm on the phone, or cooking, or sweeping the floor, or even standing on my head in the corner, because no one can see me at all. I'm invisible.
Some days I am only a pair of hands, nothing more: Can you fix this? Can you tie this? Can you open this? Some days I'm not a pair of hands; I'm not even a human being. I'm a clock to ask, "What time is it?" I'm a satellite guide to answer, "What number is the Disney Channel?" I'm a car to order, "Right around 5:30, please."
I was certain that these were the hands that once held books and the eyes that studied history and the mind that graduated summa cum laude - but now they had disappeared into the peanut butter, never to be seen again.
She's going, she's going, she's gone!
One night, a group of us were having dinner, celebrating the return of a friend from England. Janice had just gotten back from a fabulous trip, and she was going on and on about the hotel she stayed in. I was sitting there, looking around at the others all put together so well. It was hard not to compare and feel sorry for myself as I looked down at my out-of-style dress; it was the only thing I could find that was clean. My unwashed hair was pulled up in a banana clip and I was afraid I could actually smell peanut butter in it. I was feeling pretty pathetic, when Janice turned to me with a beautifully wrapped package, and said, "I brought you this."
It was a book on the great cathedrals of Europe. I wasn't exactly sure why she'd given it to me until I read her inscription: "To Charlotte, with admiration for the greatness of what you are building when no one sees."
In the days ahead I would read - no, devour - the book. And I would discover what would become for me, four life-changing truths, after which I could pattern my work: No one can say who built the great cathedrals - we have no record of their names. These builders gave their whole lives for a work they would never see finished. They made great sacrifices and expected no credit. The passion of their building was fueled by their faith that the eyes of God saw everything.
A legendary story in the book told of a rich man who came to visit the cathedral while it was being built, and he saw a workman carving a tiny bird on the inside of a beam. He was puzzled and asked the man, "Why are you spending so much time carving that bird into a beam that will be covered by the roof? No one will ever see it."
And the workman replied, "Because God sees." I closed the book, feeling the missing piece fall into place. It was almost as if I heard God whispering to me, "I see you, Charlotte. I see the sacrifices you make every day, even when no one around you does. No act of kindness you've done, no sequin you've sewn on, no cupcake you've baked, is too small for me to notice and smile over. You are building a great cathedral, but you can't see right now what it will become."
At times, my invisibility feels like an affliction. But it is not a disease that is erasing my life. It is the cure for the disease of my own self-centeredness. It is the antidote to my strong, stubborn pride. I keep the right perspective when I see myself as a great builder. As one of the people who show up at a job that they will never see finished, to work on something that their name will never be on. The writer of the book went so far as to say that no cathedrals could ever be built in our lifetime because there are so few people willing to sacrifice to that degree.
When I really think about it, I don't want my son to tell the friend he's bringing home from college for Thanksgiving, "My mom gets up at 4 in the morning and bakes homemade pies, and then she hand bastes a turkey for three hours and presses all the linens for the table." That would mean I'd built a shrine or a monument to myself. I just want him to want to come home. And then, if there is anything more to say to his friend, to add, "You're gonna love it there."
As mothers, we are building great cathedrals. We cannot be seen if we're doing it right. And one day, it is very possible that the world will marvel, not only at what we have built, but at the beauty that has been added to the world by the sacrifices of invisible women.

Happy Mother's Day to you all!!

events this week

Oh my where did the week go?

Sometimes I wish I could control time...

make it stop

speed up

or go slow

but then again I already have enough on my plate to manage eh?

One night this week I was out planting some flowers and I realized that the kids were playing very well together.

I was curious.

I grabbed my camera and worked my way close by to hear what was going on.

PRICELESS just PRICELESS!!!!!!!!

Valorie and Chadwin where up in the tree. Sarah wanted to get up but was too small so they convinced her to be the watchman of their castle.

She seemed pleased about this noble task and took her job VERY seriously!

The pics below are a bit blurry because she was so on the move...haha

THIS GIRL CAN MOVE!!!!!

socks and crocks?? maybe because they rhyme
they go together??

I am gonna shoot that bear!!!!!

There ain't nothing going past this girl unnoticed during her watch.

Maybe I hear it comin??

for some reason I kinda like this pic.

Another interesting thing in my week was this:

MY HUBBY COMES HOME ONE DAY WITH A BAG OF GROCERIES!!!

and I think to myself did he just stop at the store all on his own and get food??

What am I?

Do I not keep the cupboards stocked enough?

Chuckling to himself he pulls out each item of the bag

I BURST out laughing...

SPINACH (I always keep spinach on hand)

In case you forget how my other half looks, here he is

I don't know which half looks best? This or the pic on my profile?

Vitamins ( which he never takes)

Some organic cereal

Turkey breast and some wheat bread

Yup

you guessed it

healthy eating

so if you want to root for my hubby send him an e-mail, make him laugh ( they say that is good for your health...hahah)

Last but not least VALORIE LEARNED HOW TO RIDE BIKE!!!

While the other two still pedal away on their treasured three wheelers.

It was such an exciting moment!!

Elvin took the training wheels off and bang she took off riding
just like that.

Every step she takes lately makes me realize she is GROWING UP

My heart is screaming to hold her back and yet I find my words are encouraging her to move forward

How does one explain the heart of a Mother who watches their child begin to fly?

Thanks for stopping by!

May you be BLESSED every day of this coming week!
